It was a good day for all of us. Of course we wanted dad home and that looks like it may happen Monday or Tuesday. Dad is sitting up in a chair and out of ALL the heart patients that were at Bergan today Dad was the only one who wanted to walk. He was exhausted after his second lap but he is doing so great. His breathing treatments are going well. I am so proud of him.
Since mom and I were with dad and Scott was working today, William headed to Neola to spend the day with the Turner Family. They are so gracious to take him in and it was nice to not to feel rushed while with dad and he got to spend time with his "cousins". All 11 of them:) According to Aunt Jordan, he played and played and the kids loved him. I think he even got to be in the Annual Turner Family picture. He had a great day and was wiped out when I picked him up.
Although this not how we imagined to be spending Christmas we would of not changed it for the world. The Oder Clan will celebrate soon enough. We are just excited to have dad home soon:)

On a side note: We got a wonderful Christmas present from Jordan and Steve. William is going to have another BOY cousin to hangout with. We cannot wait to meet Baby Boy Turner:)

This year we delayed celebrating Christmas with the Oder clan due to dad's surgery so we were able to head to Red Oak for Christmas Eve. It was hard to be away from dad but Will got some quality time with his cousin Sam. They played cars together and had so much fun. Will's favorite part of the day was unwrapping presents. He caught on rather quickly :)

Giving Advice to Papa

Will and Papa offically have something in common (it is something I wish they did not but they do) They both will have experienced Open Heart surgery. Last week, my dad experienced a heart attack and did not know it. He was experiencing chest pain and loss of breathe and took the advice of my mother and went to the doctor. On Friday, after visiting his doctor he was sent to the emergency room at Mercy. On Saturday, he went for angioplasty where they found that 4 of his arteries where 95% blocked. This means on Thursday my dad will be having a quadruple bypass. We will be spending the holidays in the hospital and we are fine with that. We know dad could not be here with us right now.! Dad, Scott, Will and I love you! We cannot wait until you are back to your old self again. As Jordan put it, You have two special angels looking down you and protecting you! We LOVE YOU!

I took Will to the fire station on Saturday to have lunch with Scott. Will has been introduced to the fire truck before but he is at the age where he actually enjoyed it. He had so much sitting in the driver's seat. Scott and I have told Will from the beginning he will have two choices as a career....Trains for Fire trucks:)

One Amazing Doctor!

William finally got the opportunity to meet Dr. Ferrer this past week. Dr. Ferrer was so pleased to finally meet him. I kept telling William this was the first face he saw when he was born ( referring to Dr. Ferrer:)) I am so thankful everyday for Dr. Ferrer and for the care he provided me. I know he was just doing his job but without him who knows where William would be today. He is just amazing person. I am so lucky to be in such great Hands!

Visiting Dr. Delaney

Today things went great with Dr. Delaney. I try to go in with a positive attitude but you always have those "what ifs" in the back of your mind. Well today was positive. Dr. Delaney said there was no change in the right ventricle and pressure had even decreased on the mitral valve. These are all good things. Right now we just wait. He said we will keep coming back for echos and the day will eventually come when his valve in the right ventricle will need to be replaced. He said this is the hardest part for the parents he said.....the waiting.

I am Judd's Fan! Scott and I enjoyed date night last Sunday. We headed to Blue Sushi, our favorite, and then Scott sucked it up and enjoyed the Judd's concert with me.

Landen and Will are 7 weeks apart. Landen's dad Lucas works with Scott and along with Amy (Landen's mom) we have become great friends. I have been able to babysit Landen a few weekends in the morning for a few hours. Will and Landen have a great time and will be great friends I am sure. :)

Welcome to Winter

William battled the flu last week, has his first ear infection this week and we have been battling some issues of him turning blue. Welcome to Winter. His feet, hands and lips turn blue due to poor circulation. This is due to his heart defect. It is so hard not to get scared when this happens but we have been reassured by Dr. Shawn and both Dr. Hammel and Dr. Delaney that this is normal. Will is starting to feel better but he is a total cuddle bug and I love every minute of it. Here are some pictures from the last week:)
