Fire Station Fun...Part 2
I took Will to the fire station again today because Scott wanted to spend some time with him since he had to work today. William loves the fire station. He made a visit to see Uncle Steve too while we were in LA. He is starting to get very familiar with the trucks and atmosphere :)
LA Vacation
Scott and I headed to California over President's Day weekend. Martha and John were such awesome hosts and we had such a wonderful time. The weather was cold for California standards and it rained two of the three days we were there but it could of been alot worse, it could of been snow. Our trip consisted of a visit to Martha's office at the Oprah Winfrey Network, a hike, shopping, Dimples( the first ever karaoke bar) and dinner at Casa Vega, The restaurant that was redecorated by my favorite reality show Flipping out featuring Jeff Lewis. It as great to see it in person. We had so much fun but were extremely excited to get home to Will.
In the post below our pictures of Will's stay with Jordan and Steve. :)

William meets the Dyson
Will has his first chore around the house....vacuuming. I know you are all shocked but Will took it upon himself to use the dyson the other day while Scott and I were cleaning. He needed a little assistance at first but he caught on very quickly. He would vacuum all day if we let him. I cannot complain it could be alot worse.
First Trip to the Zoo...2011
Scott picked me up from work and we headed to the zoo to take advantage of the nice weather. We will kill two birds with one stone. Will loves the zoo and we get a little a bit of a workout walking all over the zoo. Will favorite part by far was the aquarium. I think he could of spent all day in there. He is just so much fun at this age!

Fire Station Fun!
Now that Will is older it is so much fun to drive on base and visit Scott at work. He points at all the airplanes and watches them as they fly through the sky and goes "Vroom Vroom". He had so much in the firetrucks. Scott and Will two peas in pod and they had so much fun today. Scott was so proud to see the joy in Will's eyes when he was "driving" the fire truck. I see firefighting in his future.

Passed the Test

Today we visited Dr. Needleman in the Pediatric Center at Children's Hospital. Will was checked out by several doctors that included physical and occupational therapists as well as psychologists to make sure he was progressing the way he should be. According to Dr. Needleman, Will was above expectation and met the needs of all the doctors he saw today! We also were paid a visit by Dr. Hammel's ( Will's surgeon) nurse Carmen. She was so happy to see how far along Will had come and could not wait to share the news with Dr. Hammel on how well Will was doing.
On side note, on Friday I have been ask to be the Guest speaker at the Union Pacific Heart Walk Kickoff to tell Will's heart story. I am so honored that I have been ask and I am looking forward to telling people his story.

Happy Heart Month
Happy Heart Month!! Congenital heart defects are the #1 birth defect. About 1 out of every 100 Babies are born each year with some type of CHD (approx. 40,000/year) My mom and Will are two of those people! Let's spread awareness and pray for all those with Heart Defects!
Below is a trailer for the Hearts of Hope Movie. It is about Michel Ilbawi, M.D. who leads the pediatric heart surgical team at The Heart Institute for Children. Headquartered at Hope Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois, they perform over 400 operations and care for more than 3,500 children with heart defects each year. With over 25 years experience as a pediatric heart surgeon and more than 20,000 surgeries performed, Dr. Ilbawi is nothing short of a miracle-worker to the families whose children he treats daily.
Scott and I are thankful everyday for doctor's that treat William. Dr. Delaney and Dr. Hammel along with all the nurses and the staff at Children's have given us Hope.
