Today is an important day in the history of Congenital Heart Defects. On November 29, 1944, the Blalock-Taussig Shunt was born. The BT Shunt (as it is now commonly known) gave many CHD infants a fighting chance at life. This is the first open heart surgery Will had at 3 days old :) And we were lucky to have it plugged on September 9th and now he has a full functioning heart without the help of the shunt. With the BT shunt who know where we would be today:)

For those looking to learn more about the BT Shunt they made a movie about it. It is very interesting. I watched this when will had just gotten home from the hospital. It brought a tear to my eye. Thank GOD for all of these wonderful doctors!

Enjoy Something the Lord had Made:)
