On Saturday William got discharged from the hospital and we headed home. Will is doing better than expected. The only issue he is having is with his eating. He needs to gain weight on consistent basis or will have to head back to the hospital and get a feeding tube. Will's care however does not end when he leaves the hospital. Scott and I had extensive training by Chidren's Home Health. We have to weigh him every morning, check his O2 level and give him 2 medications orally and give him a shot 2 a day in his thighs. This part is the toughest part of my day. I keep telling myself he will not remember and the shots are helping him stay better.
Our little General is doing great at home and I think he is actually doing better. Things are great and we are so excited to have him home. We know there is another surgery in the future so we are going to enjoy our time with William at home while we can.
